Job Description:
The Hardware Technician will provide Tier 2 and 3 on-site support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, network switches, routers, telecommunication and teleconferencing equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Must have hands-on hardware workmanship inspection experience.
*Troubleshoot, repair and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, network switches, routers, telecommunication and teleconferencing equipment.
*Support and maintain assigned equipment. Systems included, but are not limited to computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, network switches, routers, telecommunication and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
*Maintain government and/or vendor-manufactured telecommunications equipment.
*Assist Hardware Engineers with implementation tasks as needed.
*Ability to use complex test instruments.
*Knowledge of various types of Hardware Platforms, with both current and older (20+ yrs old) Hardware types, i.e. HP900 K650 and 550 servers, X terminals, VAX 8550 diagnostics and maintenance, SUN Sparc and Ultra workstations, Cabletron and Network General switches, assorted disk arrays, tape drives, Macintosh and PC based printers.
*Responsible for as-built drawings and schematic upgrades to comply with finished work.
*Perform survey of electrical systems, circuits and plans required for a documented wiring diagram, in sync with on-site Facilities support.

Title: Linux/Cloud Administrator

Job Description:
The primary role of this position is to provide Linux system administration support to earth orbiting science missions. This includes: designing, installing and configuring Linux servers, storage arrays, communications networks and performing system integration, testing and operational support for physical, virtual and cloud environments.
Will build systems consisting of Linux physical servers from the ground up, as well as design, build and manage virtual and cloud environments using VMware and AWS. Will also work with others in large networking environments.
Requirements:

Ability to obtain National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) background check
12+ years of directly related experience in computer systems, data centers, system engineering and administration
Significant experience designing, building, configuring, and troubleshooting RedHat Linux servers.
Significant experience building, configuring and maintaining physical servers.
Strong experience building, configuring and maintaining virtual servers using VMware.
Strong experience designing, migrating and administering cloud based solutions using AWS including Console and Command Line interface functions and commonly used AWS services and best practices.
Strong experience working on infrastructure projects such as data center build-outs, hardware and/or operating system conversions & migrations, etc.
Strong experience working and supporting mission-critical servers in production environments.
Working knowledge of computer hardware (workstations, thin clients, servers, RAID arrays, SAN/NAS)
Proven experience with scripting and automating routine tasks
